Time Change
The church board recently agreed to make a change in the church service order at PC!
Starting December 1st, Spiritual Development Classes will begin at 10 AM and the New Community gathering will begin at 11 AM.
This change will provide for a more consistent starting time for the classes, a consistant critical mass for the beginning of church, and less pressure to fit church service elements into an hour block of time.
Help us get the word out!

Songwriting(choosing)
Hey folks.
I just found some thoughts written by Michael Gungor on songwriting for church music.
Read it here.
I think his thoughts are also relevant for choosing songs for church.
Enjoy!

Best of PC
Hey, what do you all think of the blog so far??
If there are any additional ideas for making this a great hub of communication, let me know!
Most everything is pretty self explanatory except the 'Best of PC' section to the right... I included it to allow for a way for the entire music team to give feedback on the last weeks song selection. It is simple: think back to the worship service and choose the song that either you liked the best, or you feel like the church liked the best. Click that song. When we get the results each week each leader can use the information when planning for future sets.
Brilliant!

Lunch!
Hello Team!
It looks like we'll have great attendance for the creative arts team lunch this weekend!
We already have the schedule done through January and this frees us up to have a more focused time together.
There are a few topics I would like to cover during lunch and I'm sending them to you now so your creative ideas can begin to form even before we gather.
I hope to form a 1 year, 5 year, 10 year and 200 year plan for our church worship culture. Obviously this is too much for a two hour lunch, but having a clearer direction will inform every one of our functions including how we build our team, how we purchase equipment, what kind of songs we sing, how we design our stage.....
I would love to form a simple, consistent vocabulary for what we see as the singing response of the church. do we sit? stand? kneel? do we sing all the time? some of the time? just sit and watch? can we dance? raise our arms? I understand that each individuals response should be unique to them, but I have seen that each worship leader is sending a slightly different message so I would love to find some consistency.
I'd like to work together on forming a system to introduce new songs into our Church's collective repertoire. The only system that will really work well is one that we design together so lets make a simple easy way to share our new songs.
I would also like to open the floor for practical ideas that we can incorporate into our ministry that can make things run smoother and smarter. We will have worship leaders, musicians, A/V people and pastors all in the same room at the same time so ideas can be shared and implemented more effectively.
I am looking forward to eating with you all!
Details:
Our address is:
1151 Woodland Terrace
Take Victor or Church Creek to Mistletoe (go toward the school) turn into the Shasta Pines subdivision and take your first right onto Woodland Terrace. We live at the back of the cul de sac. We are still on good terms with our neighbors so please be considerate of their driveways while parking. Thanks!
You are welcome to bring your family along with you! Please do let me know how many are coming.
We are providing soup for lunch so this isn't a potluck, but if you do feel you must bring something, a salad or desert would be dandy!
See you Sabbath!

Hey folks!
About a month ago, Randy asked me to be the point person for the creative arts team at PC and I am honored and excited to step into this role!
There are specific areas Randy and Don have asked me to work in and I have a few directives that I am passionate about as well. (listed under the Creative Team Gathering page)
I look forward to worshiping with you and serving the church in this new way!
